Electronic pop up piano from Ant on Vimeo.

The pop-up piano page turns an Arduino into a capacitive sensor, which can sense the electrical capacitance of the human body therefore transforming the paper keys in musical notes when pressed.
Please note that at the present moment the page is at a prototyping stage and two of the notes have been left out and are not working because I had just 10 resistors at my disposal :)
The electronic pop-up piano is thought to be one of the pages of a pop-up book made with movable parts and other sensors.
This video features the track “Orchestrated Incident”(Street Bangerz Vol. 2) by Gramatik. No copyright infringement is intended.

for(){}; - projection mapped video game on canvas from Brent Watanabe on Vimeo.

Video documentation of installation “for(){};”, 2013.
In for(){};, there is no beginning or end to the game, just collecting and wandering, birthing and consuming, an arbitrary point system rising until your inevitable death and the birth of another generation. It is a game mechanism without the game. An addictive but essentially aimless experience.
The piece is a triptych of playable acrylic paintings, controlled by the viewer using a NES controller.
Programmer/artist Brent Watanabe worked with painter Cable Griffith to create an interactive landscape painting influenced by Hieronymus Bosch’s “The Garden of Earthly Delights”, merging traditional materials and new technology.
for(){}; is a custom computer application with sound, projection mapped onto three wall mounted paintings.
Programming, graphics, sound: Brent Watanabe
